CHARLIE LOWER

Charlie Lower is a 23 year old self made racing driver from the UK. Using his photography / filming making skills to document his racing experiences. He is currently competing in the Caterham 270R Championship with Hardline Motorsport.

From the age of 5, Charlie was addicted to anything fast and competitive. He started off with two wheels and quickly moved onto 4 wheels as soon as he was old enough and entered clubman grassroots motorsport with his Dad Kevin at age 14.

CATERHAM RACING DRIVER

2022

With success from Charlie’s first season in the Caterham Academy, Charlie managed to get some sponsors onboard which abled his to take the next step on the ladder the Caterham Roadsport Championship.

With a grid size of 42 competitors, 7 race weekends and 14 races Charlie claimed second in the championship with 11 podiums, 6 victories, 3 seconds , 2 thirds and 1 fastest lap.

CATERHAM ROADSPORT

2021

In 2021 Charlie decided to attempt to fulfil a life time dream of becoming a racing driver.

He entered his first ever circuit racing championship the Caterham Academy. Throughout the year it became very clear that his dream was going to be even more difficult than originally thought. As he faced a competitive grid of 25 other drivers with 20x more than his yearly budget!

During the year Charlie faced many tricky situations and had to try to find ways to be competitive without spending tens of thousands of pounds.

This involved using second hand tyres and brake pads of competitors in the paddock and even using his Dads old baggy race suit. With the nature of wheel to wheel racing in a single make series, he learnt quite quickly how to repair fibreglass wings etc... With the disadvantage of budget against him, Charlie still managed to win the Caterham Academy Championship!

CATERHAM ACADEMY

Charlie’s first ever was QuadLock Cases, forming a relationship through lockdown making content for the brand. Charlie built a strong relationship with team leading to them jumping at the chance to help Charlie with his dream.

QUADLOCK

2020

I competed in a modified classic Mini in Motorsport events up and down the country.

Autotesting is a precision based sport which includes doing high speed manoeuvres along a series of timed courses. I’ve been competing in clubman level motorsport since the age of 14 and in 2019 I started competing at a national level.

The first year was a great success with a Class A Win in the BTRDA & MOTORSPORT UK Championship as well as Junior Champion.
